I've always thought that Arthur's relationship to Peter was explained perfectly by this kind of abuse. Because otherwise he has a pretty strong "I hate you and want to kill you!" reaction to a man who it seems did little more than fail to encourage him. Hence, I guess, why I have a whole mess of stories that involve Arthur/Peter in this capacity. They're not exactly in the same universe, but the idea of that trauma as the basis of some of Peter's angst in the series is really interesting to me, so... Ah, what can I say, I'm evil.

I've written one Arthur/Peter story in which Angela is complicit, and only one in which Arthur is also with Nathan... Mostly I see Nathan and Angela as needing to be kept in the dark so they don't viciously murder Arthur, y'know? Especially if there's Nathan/Peter going on.
