Drive by pretty

So, I've started following some of the heroes people on Twitter. Grunberg, Brea Grant, James Kyson Lee, and some other folks have Twitter feeds (David H. Lawrence XVII, who plays Eric Doyle, as a list of them all at his website). In addition, the key makeup artist and the props master also Twitter! They often post fun pics of the cast and other goings-on on set, and you should consider checking them out.

However, I was wasting time at work this morning, and visited the website of the Twittering makeup artist, Wendy Avignone. She has a few galleries of her work... And golly.... Some pretty pictures of Milo (note the caption) and many other cast members, AND pictures of both Milo's and Adrian's tattoos, in their natural and air-brushed states. Tattoos... Hm... You should go take a coffee break of prettiness.

Okay, that lady has the best job ever.

"Sit still Milo while I make you pretty and/or bloody."

*ENVY*

I agree that's an awesome job. "And let me grease you up, too, Milo." Hee!

Cool! Thanks for the links. I hadn't known that she worked for 24 earlier.
Still don't get this twitter-picture thing. :)
Would you mind if I follow you?

Blessings! ;)

Go for it! I'm here: https://twitter.com/brighteyedjill

Yeah, Wendi's Twitter pics are great.

Thank you very much! ;)

The airbrushing is fab. It occurs to me that I haven't seen a clear pic of Zach's tattoo, she must have airbrushed that one too.

I didn't even know ZQ had a tattoo! What is it of?

[identity profile] takhallus.livejournal.com 2009-03-06 11:10 am (UTC)(link)
It's a celtic symbol called a triskele which is three interlocking spirals, though Zach's is more like rounded triangles. It's on his left upper arm.

It's supposed to symbolise strength, honour and fortitude, but I don't know Zach's reasons for having it done.

I always find it interesting what designs people chose for tattoos. It had better say something you really love, since it's fairly permanent and all. Anyway, thanks for the inside scoop on Zach's ink.

I had no idea Adrian had such a MASSIVE tattoo. Then again, we (sadly) almost never get to see him half-naked. I found it very interesting that half of the special effects for nuclear!Peter at Kirby Plaza were makeup rather than CGI. Look at those guys being so careful with their budget!

And sarkywoman, I'm with you in my envy of Wendy. "Milo, just relax while I spray every inch of your torso with glycerine and then carefully brush on some dirt..." Srsly. Or, "Zack, just chill for a bit while I painstakingly apply this sword-cut scar paint to your stomach..."

Yeah, and it has the name of his wife and kids. How adorable is that? We need more shirtless Pasdar, damnit! We need more Flying Man in pajama pants only. Yeah, that job is super awesome.

OK, so I totally want that picture of Adrian's (massive!) bicep as an icon.

Thanks for the link hon! To return the favour, let me direct you to this:

It's some random top 50 thing, and our precious Milo's number two (wedged in between the Supernatural boys - dirty!). But, more importantly, check out James Kyson Lee at number 30. And then pick your jaw up off the floor.

Holy Mother of Mercy, I had no idea JKL was so... *SQUEEE!* Thank you most kindly Miss Miso, I had this idea for a story with Ando and this just helped with my horribly perverted plot bunny.

Glad to be of service! Particularly if it inspires more of your writing :)

Adrian is a very fine man. How much time does he spend at the gym? Seriously.

Oooo, the hotness! And please to not be putting dirty pictures of a Jared/Milo/Jensen sandwich into my head while I'm supposed to be working on other things!!!!

Now I have to go add Wendy to my list of people to follow. Dang! I have trouble keeping up with Twitter as it is. :-D I already follow Greg and JKL. I don't follow James the propmaster, but I do read his tweets from time to time.

That sounds dirty. **hee-hee**

Wow, I love that shot of Adrian's anchor tattoo. I've seen it in photos before, but never that close up and detailed. Wendy really does some great work.

[identity profile] brighteyed-jill.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 07:09 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I don't actually read everything that comes up on my Twitter feed. Pretty much I just look at whatever's up on the first page when I happen to read it. Because I don't need another thing on the interwebs to feel guilty about not checking! And yeah, it's hard to find close-up shots of people's tattoos, probably because actors spend much of their lives trying to cover them up. Except, of course, when writers obligingly write them into the script, like with Chrisopher Meloni on Law and Order SVU. But otherwise, that's why people like Wendy are so awesome!
