I knew they were trying to forget that possibility existed. They didn't even try to technobabble an excuse. So stupid. Angela even KNEW Claire was around.
It's really a question of what is more retarded - the magic blood itself, or making all the characters forget it exists. Bah. They're damned either way.
I love how this will be played out in fanfic because you really could have Nathan in there somehow, a part of his soul, and an MPD relationship occur between the two of them.
But in canon it kind of sucks. =/
Ugh. I think I'm just gonna hold most of my judgement till season four though. Who knows? It could be interesting. Maybe.
I'm convinced Nathan's body isn't gone. What did they do with it stuff it in a hole come on, someone nabbed it and is just waiting for Sylar to slip up.
Arthur maybe because if Nathan's real body just got dumped Angela really is a bitch.
I don't know why they didn't opt to use Claire's blood - or Peter's at this point - but I also assume that they have Nathan's body in the deep freeze somewhere and can bring him back whenever they need to in S4, ie when Sylar starts manifesting over Nathan's essence.
Yeah. *sigh* I have a few great fanfic ideas that can work off this and make it seem cool, but I hate that yeah, they just KILLED them both. And the sad thing is, it could have been awesome, had they changed it just a little. Instead of Sylar believeing he's Nathan, put Nathan's concience in Sylar, so you have two distinct personalities that are fighting in the same body. I. E. Niki/Jessica. That would be cracktastic to watch Sylar interact with everyone because he's FORCED to, cause he's holding Nathan's personality inside of him...and it would keep both characters distinct, seperate, and alive.
Um... I don't know how much you want to know, so I won't give anything away, but... I was a very, very unhappy camper last night. The friends who watched with me (and know that Nathan is my favorite character) looked at me afterward and said, "We're so sorry."
Nathan's not even my favourite character but he needs to be there. Even if he's not my favourite, he's probably the best. It's just...Nathan/Peter... Even when it's not my primary pairing I have it in the background. Even if we ignore the incestuous overtones, they have the best dynamic in Heroes.
*confused* who's the second... or are you refering to the fact that they killed one in actual and then killed the other in theory?
Wouldn't he be able to heal his mind though?
and what about all of Sylar's other abilities? like hearing the truth or subsonic sounds? wouldn't those be active all the time?
Do you think Claire could only have fixed it if he hadn't been exsanguinated or if he wasn't really dead maybe noah was just comatose from the bullet and not dead?? idontknow. They need something to come bite them in the arse... the show confuses the f*ck out of me. But I'm so addicted!
too many discontinuities... but OH MY GOD I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT SEASON TO START ALREADY!!
Oh, sweetie. I'm so sorry. I left some internet love on trekker's lj earlier, but I didn't see your reaction post until just now. I'm sending a big hug your way: I know what a huge Nathan fan you are.
As, of course, am I. However, I'm actually OK with the way things played out. Not happy, of course, but kind of relieved. I've explained why on trekker's lj, and how I bought into the whole thing, but I'll give you the short version:
1: I'm a sucker. This is a fact. 2: I'll take Adrian Pasdar any way I can have him. And he seems to be excited about this new direction. Related to 2 is number 3: Adrian sold it. The subtle yet discernable difference between Nathan and Sylar!Nathan was beautifully done. And the Nathan we had at the end was Nathan. Not Sylar!Nathan. That's what he believes, and I do too. I don't believe in souls, or spirits, I believe our memories and experiences and relationships make us what we are. And I think this Nathan will be heartbroken when he eventually realises what sort of a man he used to be, and will fight back against Sylar's re-emergence. And he'll win. 4: Did I mention I'm a sucker?
This is my version of reality, and I'm sticking to it. But I have a huge amount of understanding and sympathy for those who haven't bought into it. I'm thinking of you! *sends more hugs*
I mean... I'm mildly happy that Adrian Pasdar is still around, but... uh... things are pretty precarious. Honestly, how long can he stay as Sylar? This situation can't last forever.
Yeah... I hope they have some awesome ideas for how they're going to handle this, because uh... Yeah. It's going to be hard to do this in any way that could be construed as "well."
Seriously. Even without the incest, their relationship has been at the core of Heroes right from the pilot. It's been pivotal in the finale of every volume. They're the heart of the show, way more than Claire or Hiro.
Yeah, I say two because they killed Nathan (4 rlz) and they kind of raped Sylar's mind until the character as we knew him is dead. Plus, presumably no Zachary Quinto for awhile, so.... Bluech.
So many unanswered questions about what will happen to Sylar, and why they did what they did, and why the Heroes writers smoke so much crack! It's a long time until next season, though... In the meantime, I guess we'll have to satisfy ourselves with fanfic!
From the spoilers and interviews I've read, I am pretty reassured that they WILL do the split personality thing, and that it IS Nathan's mind in there - not just a bunch of memories that Sylar is forced to believe. *crosses finger* Maybe that will let Nathan have a more proper sendoff. I think that it's still a bad move for them to end a finale that way though, especially because they didn't um...portray it like I think they intended. Maybe a midseason finale but pissing off your fans then making them wait four months? Way to kill your ratings.
*cuddles with memory of Nathan* The things you say make sense, especially with regards to Mr. Pasdar's amazing acting chops. But... but... but... Nathan! The real Nathan! Deady dead dead! I'm unsure and sad, but not by any means quitting my show. Because, like you, I am a sucker.
Yeah, Heroes is not so adept at the ratings games... But if ZQ is going to be occupied doing more Star Trek movies (and let's face it: he will be!) that bodes well for "Nathan's" continued existence, yes?
Honestly, Sylar's my favorite character so I'd be a bit sad if ZQ went away (though I have seen so much HATE for Sylar from Petrellicesters, even before the finale. eek.). But after seeing Star Trek, YES, sequels PLEASE! So I'm a bit on the fence. I wouldn't stop watching if Sylar died, as long as he had a good death.
But if they were to spare Nathan and kill Sylar, they are NOT ALLOWED TO FUCK WITH NATHAN ANYMORE. No more dangling Nathan in death's jaws every season, no more threatening the cest. Adrian better stick around till the damn series finale. Cause if they saved him just to kill him ten episodes later, I'd be upset as a Nathan fan, and as a Sylar fan. Like, "Sylar died for this?"
I'm with you on this. Really. It's too bad there's such anger at Sylar out there, especially coming from the Petrelli crowd. Zachary Quinto didn't ask to kill Nathan, I guarantee it! I love Sylar in addition to the Petrellis, and honestly, I'm almost as upset at the "killing" of Sylar as I was at the killing of Nathan.
I know that Nathan is one of the most emotionally resonant characters, and therefore it's good drama to threaten his life, but seriously. I think they really can't do that anymore. They must stop after this time. Because it's getting old, and my heart can't take the strain! Plus, I don't want fake!Nathan to die. But I would be sad to never again see ZQ on Heroes, so I have mixed feelings... Can't Sylar have a twin? Damnit, if Ali Larder can have 17 duplicate characters, why can't anyone awesome have duplicate character?!

I kept whining "No, no, no, EW!" throughout the last five or six minutes.

Oh GOD.
EDIT: I haven't seen it, but all I can think is that they 'killed off' Nathan in the season one and two finale as well...
