I am not dead!

HA! Just when you thought it might be safe to start looting my body. NO! I am alive, I say. Though the past week I have been consumed by real life projects (one in particular, heh heh), the plague (fluuuu!) and [livejournal.com profile] startrekbigbang. So here's that's up:

* I'm two weeks behind on Heroes. This is a travesty. I'm working on fixing it.
* I have comments to reply to, I know. I'll get on that as soon as Monday happens.
* I'm brewing some exciting ideas for my [livejournal.com profile] xoverexchange fic.
* On Monday my [livejournal.com profile] startrekbigbang fic goes up. It's 58,000 words of more angst than you can shake a phaser at.

Okay, now tell me the most awesome thing you've written/read/done in the past month so I can start catching up on all the fun.

Okay, my awesome thing is reading about all the awesomeness *you're* doing! Like, is it Monday yet? :)

Heroes? Hmmph. I'm still depressed about Pasdar. :(

[identity profile] brighteyed-jill.livejournal.com 2009-11-09 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I know nothing of Pasdar gossip, so I try to avoid it. I'm just happy he's made some appearances this season, even if he isn't exactly Nathan. *sigh*

Also.... It's MONDAY!

[identity profile] rednihilist.livejournal.com 2009-11-09 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it's Heroes-related. . . and it's--

No, never mind. You'll find out soon enough, I'll wager. :/

Things that are awesome that I have read... [livejournal.com profile] ewinfic's Strange Geometry series continues to rock my world. Oh, and her Opposite of Expediency (a Spock/McCoy 6-part series) also rocks. I recommend them. Highly.

Things that are awesome that I have done... I cleaned the gutters today! Yay for being productive!

Things that are awesome that I have written... I wrote an AU medieval swords-and-sorcery style Matt/Mohinder piece called The Gauntlet for [livejournal.com profile] kethni's birthday that I find to be pretty cool. It's got swordfighting in it!

Oh, hey, I just got finished writing a story that may be more to your taste. Peter as a rent boy! Want and Need

I love rentboy!Peter. It's one of my favorite flavors. Ooo, AUs! I'll get around to reading your Gauntlet (you seem to have an unhealthy thing about gauntlets, lass) soon.

I may give Strange Geometry another try... I did enjoy Opposite of Expediency. I'm an equal opportunity slash shipper in the Trek verse. Except with Scotty. For some reason I can't get into Scotty. Sorry, Simon Pegg!

[identity profile] miss-miso.livejournal.com 2009-11-07 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Hooray for being not-dead! Of course I miss you, but I'm happy to hear you've been creatively productive. I'll admit I'm very intrigued by your cryptic comment about your RL 'projects' - I hope you'll spill at some point ;) And I also hope you're over your flu, so that when I send you virtual hugs like this - *hugs* - I won't get viral ones back.

Hmm, what to rec, what to rec. Well, I really enjoyed this Sylar!Nathan piece from a few weeks ago. And jaune's written a fic you must read after you've seen the most recent Heroes ep, because it's adorable. If you're interested in well written Claire/Gretchen bonding (nothing overtly slashy), then there's one over here. People are starting to repost thinkgs from trekker's last kink meme, and there were several lovely, dirty things that came out of that, but you may have read them already. Aside from that, I'm reading a Gilmore Girls fic at the moment. Yeah, you heard me. It's the second one this year, even (but it's not delightfully smutty like [personal profile] a_cook1 's gorgeous Jess/Dean one; this is floor to ceiling Jess pain and angst). It's so well-crafted and heartbreaking and tragic (and unfinished, dammit) that I'm having trouble composing a reply to it at the moment. It explores the emotional aftermath of violent sexual assault (in the setting of past child abuse), so it's not an easy read.

Uh, that's all I've got. I haven't been up to much over the last month, so I don't have any gossip for you. I haven't written anything new either. I did dabble in some Heroes S4 slash a few weeks ago, but I haven't had time to write anything since. I was thinking of posting an older fic you might have already seen from trekker's kink meme, so again, nothing new there. I was looking at my unfinished fics sadly just yesterday, in fact, and noticed that it's been a while since I've written something unsmutty and upbeat. So now I have a really fluffy Hiro-centric idea in my head which may or may not come to light...we shall see if it wins out or if I just continue on my usual theme of whoring Peter Petrelli out to various characters.

Btw, I'm really enjoying the season so far; the last two eps were great even though they were sans Peter and Nathan, my usual eye-candy. You need to catch up!

*hugs* I'm healthy-ish now, so I shouldn't be able to send you flu over the intertubes. Also, as for real-life adventures, they're all theatre-profession related. Shows here, shows there... I feel like I've been in rehearsal every night since the middle of June.

I'm working on catching up with Heroes: I started watching Strange Attractors on my iPod today during my commute, so hopefully this week I'll get back up to speed. And "great" is a good endorsement (and high praise, coming from you, if they were Petrelli-less!), so I'll go into this cautiously optimistic.

I haven't seen hardly anything from the recent meme, so I'll look forward to that delicious kinkiness. And I don't mind re-reading yummy kink of yours. Also, I do not mind your usual theme. Not at all. It's a good theme. A classic. Keep it up.

I'll check out your recs once I'm caught up on the appropriate episodes. I started to take a peak at the Gilmore Girls one. I can't believe I'm reading Gilmore Girls fanfic! And the SECOND one of the year, as you say! !. Oh the internet, what depths you bring us to.

Oh, wow. Hope you're not running yourself ragged, but at least it sounds like you're enjoying it!

Hmm, well, I think on a scale of Heroes fandom pickiness, I'm pretty easygoing - I don't get upset by continuity issues, for example, so I'm not sure you can always trust my judgment. I don't think it's spoilery to say Heroes 4x08 had an HRG-based plot I really could have done without, but overall I loved Hiro's plot so much I didn't really give a shit, y'know? I'm easy to please. But, yeah, the fact that I liked them even though Peter wasn't prancing about in that ridiculously snug paramedic uniform of his (fanservice! Real paramedics don't wear uniforms that tight. How would they perform chest compressions?), says quite a lot.

I started to take a peak at the Gilmore Girls one. I can't believe I'm reading Gilmore Girls fanfic! And the SECOND one of the year, as you say!

LOL! I'm dragging you down with me. I blame Milo. [livejournal.com profile] cadesama and I were talking about how he seems custom-made to play woobies; apart from his looks, he plays the fucked-up, angsty, angry young man so beautifully. I could care less about the rest of those Stars Hollow freaks, but Jess I want to take home and wrap up in a blanket and feed soup.

Oh, speaking of which...did you ever get to finish [livejournal.com profile] a_cook1's bigboom fic? The Peter angst toward the end is epic. I can highly recommend it.

Take care of yourself! :)

Oh, that uniform. I am not complaining. At all. I'll take all the fanservice I can get, thank you very much!

Apart from his looks, he plays the fucked-up, angsty, angry young man so beautifully.
He does! I think that's why I couldn't entirely buy his character in Pathology. I needed him to be a little more woobie-ie. I'm considering going to see Armored just to see Milo be all injured and scared. Because that never gets old. Ever.

And thanks for reminding me about [Bad username or site: a_cook1's @ livejournal.com] big bang! I'm going to get back to reading it. It's bookmarked... I've just fallen so behind on fic with the pace of real life lately. Blah. But angst makes me happy (irony, party of one!), so I'll get back to enjoying hers soon.

hahah, you are alive!
me too, though I am not sure for how long.
the plague-flu has hit me and family hard, too :(
looking forward to your monster piece of angst :D

Yes, alive is good! Sorry you've been plagued. 'Tis the season to feel sickly, I guess? And the angst is now posted!

yepiiii!

will be saving your big angsty piece for the weekend!

It's more angst than you can shake a stick at!
