Book Memery!

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4-7 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest (unless it's too troublesome to reach and is really heavy. Then go back to step 1).
6. Tag five people.

ARKADINA: She is the most unfortunate girl! They say her mother left her entire enormous fortune to her husband, nothing whatsoever to the girl, and now the father has remarried and made a will leaving it all to his second wife! It's simply a scandal.

DORN: It's true, the father's a monster.

SORIN: (Rubs his chilly hands) Let's go in, shall we? I'm going to catch my death in all this dampness. And my legs hurt.

Yeah, that's Anton Chekov's play The Seagull. Closest one on the bookshelf. Probably doesn't hurt its odds that I have four copies of it... This is the Schmidt translation, which is really the only one.
