I watched a few episodes of Supernatural, and got more hooked than I expected to be. The broangst is just delicious. But it was kind of difficult once I finally got the characters together to get to that, "Hm, we're both fucking our brothers" place. But once the incest demon plot bunny hopped into the yard, it was all over. So I'm glad that plot device worked for you!
I agree that the crack!porn couldn't really be the real ending. For one thing, I just sort of threw character development to the winds and let the guys fuck, y'know? I feel like there would probably have been more angst (like, boatloads more) before that could have happened. Still, you're right about neither pairing being exclusive, so why not, eh? Mmm... meeting up somewhere on the road for an occasional foursome... Mmmm....
And you are so right about what the other brothers don't know. I toyed with the idea of having Nathan use his power somehow in the final fight, but it worked without it. And Peter only overheard something about Dean selling his soul, not the specific circumstances... The bros are so secretive, it didn't seem right to have them divulge all their secrets. Kudos to you for picking out those circumstances. And yes, it was possibly deliberate when I thought there might be a chance for a Petrelli/Winchester reunion... Maybe when I finish my heroes_bigboom story, this beast might deserve a sequel...
