Okay, to be fair, I'd take them any way I could get them, but you know what I mean.
I know EXACTLY what you mean, you saucy minx.
So, yeah I'm back for a re-read, it's even more gorgeous on the second pass. Call me unimaginative, but I'm not always a fan of sub-Nathan. I just lurve sexy, authoritative Nathan for some reason - the suits, the voice, the way he purses his lips when he's pissed off...um, what was I saying again? Oh, right. I was going to say that some talented writers (a couple of whom have commented on this fic) portray sub-Nathan very well, and you've obviously got a nice handle on it too (dirty!!). What makes this work for me is the heartfelt emotion of it - Nathan's guilt and need for forgiveness feels genuine, and Peter's loving dominance does seem like a fitting response.
“Nathan.” Peter’s voice held a warning note. “I know what you’re doing. You’re still trying to control this. You want to know what’s going to happen. Still trying to figure out what you should do. Just stop it.” He came up behind Nathan and put a warm hand on his shoulder. “Let it go. I’ll tell you what you need to do. Don’t worry about anything else.”
See, that's just lovely. Peter's reversal of the D/S dynamic is gentle but firm, and he's never cruel. Which makes so much sense in terms of character - even the slightly harder S3 Peter. He's not future Peter yet, and he's still capable of forgiveness. He just can't forget.
Wonderful work, my dear. Your writing is always such a pleasure to read.
