Summary: Spock is experiencing an unsettling emotional response in the wake recent events, but the very last thing that could possibly improve the situation is a late-night confrontation with James T. Kirk.
( Spock had expected to pass the evening alone, and now every word of Kirk’s, no matter how innocuous, felt like a goad. )
