Dude, the end of the world is endlessly fascinating! I just want to read and write dystopian fiction FOREVER! I think it's because I learn interesting things about people's characters when they're reduced to the essentials.
I'm glad you liked all the little details about this particular apocalyptic future. Y'know the dog? I hesitated over putting that in, because I said to myself, "Listen, self. You write some pretty sick shit, but you can NOT kill a DOG, ffs!" But then I did anyway. At least Luke was sorry, right?
