Additional rant regarding Heroes 3x01
Sep. 24th, 2008 10:13 pmI couldn't resist sharing this gem from a New York Post review of the Heroes premiere:
Instead, this show, which was once so thrilling and fun, has become full of itself, its characters spouting crazy nonsense.
Here's one I wish someone would translate for me: "There's a divinity that shapes our ends - rough hew them how we will," spouts the enigmatic industrialist Linderman played by Malcolm McDowell, who should win an Emmy for keeping a straight face while reciting these lines.
Interesting point, sir. But did those words sound familiar somehow? As if you, a New York critic, might be expected to recognize them? Did you try Googling them? They're from one of the most famous speeches in one of the most famous plays of all time. Still stumped? Hamlet. Dumbass. And that crazy monologue at the end, about slouching toward Bethlehem? Yeah. Google that, too.

After checking out the first few minutes of the Heroes countdown, I decided that I just couldn’t watch it. Spoiler danger. It’s Tivo-d so we may watch it later. BUT! I will be live-blogging the premiere. So. More to come.
